There are 4 airports that serve Meribel.
Chambery - The closest and smallest, with a 1½ hour drive up to the resort. It can be chaotic on a Saturday which is one of the reasons we operate a Sunday changeover. The shortest airport transfer time with a choice of car hire and direct bus connections via Moutiers using Belle Savoie express.
Geneva - The motorway means that you can get from Geneva to Meribel in around 2½ hours. There is also a direct route alongside beautiful Lake Annecy which is definately worthwhile if you wish to save the cost of the tolls and have time on your hands. Geneva has multiple car hire, private transfers companies and shared bus options. The train however can be a challenge
Grenoble - A small airport like Chambery, and a 2¼ hour drive mostly on motorway. There tends to be a choice of low cost flight operators and private transfer companies; shared buses are also a prebookable option
Lyon - A larger airport with a 2½ hour hour drive mostly on motorway. Very good train connections (station is within the airport), lots of car hire options and pre bookable shared or private transfers are available in season. Scheduled flights serve Lyon all year as well as low cost operators in season.
On peak weeks, traffic can be slow going to and from all airports. In particular journeys to and from Lyon and Grenoble can take as long as 4 hours when the whole of France decide to drive to the Alps!
* Please note these times are all approximate and depend entirely on traffic and weather conditions. When returning home please allow plenty of time to catch your flight.
